During the summer months, Las Salinas is the ‘in’ beach not only for the wealthy and the beautiful people, but also for the party scene.

Location: 10 minutes drive from Playa d’en Bossa or Ibiza Town
Facilities: Loungers, parasols, restaurants, bars, massage, beach boutiques, shop, lockers, showers, lifeguards, beach security
Activities: Pedaloes, electro boats, catamaran rent, diving school
Size: 1.5 kilometres long, 25-30 metres wide.

Named after the salt lakes in the south of Ibiza, the beach at Las Salinas is the southern most tip of the island and the most popular with celebrities…especially footballers!

The very long, wide crescent of pale sandy beach is bordered by pine woods. The water is crystal clear with super breakers that appear on windy days, perfect for body-surfing. Good for adventure walks as the surrounding terrain is Ibiza’s Wildlife Conservation Area.

During the summer months, Las Salinas is the ‘in’ beach not only for the wealthy and the beautiful people, but also for the party scene. The bikini fashions tend to reveal more than they cover-up, and the sun-worshippers here are more than a match for the Baywatch beauties. The closest resort to is Salinas is Playa d’en Bossa where you can find some great night life.

Beachlife

The rather exclusive bars play summer music throughout the day, and will serve cocktails right to your sun bed! The atmosphere and the beautiful beach more than make up for the generous prices. Towards the end of the bay, nudists, families, hippies and party kings and queens dance and chill-out to the groovy sounds all day long. Pure summer feeling…no wonder it’s such a popular beach!

Tip: if you’ve the energy, walk towards the watchtower. In the off-season it’s a great walk to blow the cobwebs away and you can return via the woods. In the summer months it allows you to discover the small coves dotted along the rockier part of the coastline. You may even find your own private beach!

Facilities: Great choice of trendy restaurants and bars, so if you’re on a budget best bet is to take a packed lunch or dine in the cafe bars along the road at the end of the beach. In summer lifeguards.

Getting there: Reached by car or bicycle (be careful of the traffic!), or bus from Ibiza Town (10 km) or Playa d’en Bossa (6 km). There’s now paid parking here. In peak season the main road in becomes clogged with parked cars as people try and park for free. However the paid parking area (left at the roundabout) has good facilities with covered parking bays.

Closest resort: Playa d’en Bossa.
